Discussion Prompt # 11

Scenario 1 Topic 2

Hating the addictive effects of cigarettes is a personal issue or moral that the person must resolve outside of the workplace. The workplace is where you preform the job you were assigned whether you like it or not. Being satisfied with your job that pays well means that it can provide you with the means to survive in a crippled economy. You are satisfied with the job because it provides you with income therefore you are a success in your career field because it make you money. You are not satisfied with the morals of smoking and that is not affiliated with success in the workplace in my point of view. This changes nothing . The workplace is a place of economical gain for the company employee and employer not a place of personal belief

  1. I personally hate cigarettes, but if a person who supports them is willing to take the job because he believes what he is doing is right, he has the potential to feel successful, and just as well BE successful. However, on the flipside, if you believe that cigarettes are wrong and immoral, then there's no reason to take up the job. The sad reality is, though, that people only take up the job for the salary and not for the fact of the matter being that they see cigarettes as a bad impact on society.

  2. I am sure he is somewhat satisfied with the job because of the high salary. Not everybody can get jobs or payment like that. I agree, he must be grateful for the job. In order to survive, you have to sacrafice, even your morals. But job satisfaction depends on the person's idea of satisfaction. If he does not like the job then he might as well find another one.
