Discussion Questions # 1

     1. I believe that the benefits you would have writing with your own home world views in mind would be very crucial. Writing with your own home views in mind give the readers back home a connection to the ideas you are trying to write about. It is also in my opinion that this creates the idea in the minds of those not from your home that you are very humble and perhaps that you are respected by your people. Having your views with the views of the academic standard can create an infusion of critical thinking both from home and study.

     2. I don't see why you have to let go of your home world views just because you graduated from an academic institution. Although she is right that academic and home views cant coexist due to the fact that home opinions dont really have a place in an academic world based on facts or research and data, critical thinking and process, but, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to give up on the connections that bind you to your home. I say just simply keep the two worlds apart. Its the author , student, who ever is writing to decide to put academic or home views into his or her work. There shouldn't really be this clash of powers in the literate world in my opinion.

  1. You seem like you know what your talking about. I'm going to agree, maybe. I'm not sure yet, for I have no idea what I'm talking about.

  2. So, learn new concepts, facts, evidence, etc. but keep your old home views intact. Probably a good plan, so that we all don't lose touch with reality while we are in school! Good responses!
